In order to bring everyone a more vibrant experience, we have decided to condense the day’s program – the event on April 17, 2010 at the UCSB will run from 9am until 1pm. We will be breaking the program into two sessions with a 45 minute coffee break in between.
We will have 5 speakers go in the first session and four in the second session. All sessions will be streamed live online. We will also be showing a number of TED videos throughout the day.
There are a number of reasons why we have made this decision. First of all, April 17 is Earth Day, and as there are events going on downtown in the afternoon to celebrate this worldwide event that has its origins in Santa Barbara, we didn’t want to overlap with those festivities too much.
Second, many Santa Barbarians really like getting out on the weekends, and we felt that keeping everyone inside all day, wasn’t fair.
Finally, a number of our speakers requested to speak earlier in the day, so we want to accommodate them as much as possible.
